Heart Shaped Brownies – Rich, fudgy goodness perfect for Valentine’s Day. Made with cocoa, butter, and love. Quick, easy, and sure to impress!

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (113g)
  • High-quality semisweet chocolate: 8 oz (226g), chopped
  • Granulated sugar: 1 cup (200g)
  • Large eggs: 2, room temperature
  • Pure vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Espresso powder: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • All-purpose flour: 2/3 cup (85g)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons (15g)
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chocolate chips or chunks: 1/2 cup (85g)
  • Red or pink sprinkles: Optional

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven and Prepare Pan Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the parchment.
  2. Step 2: Melt Butter and Chocolate Create a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Add butter and chopped chocolate to the bowl, stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Step 3: Combine Sugar and Eggs Whisk sugar into the melted chocolate mixture. Add eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition until fully incorporated.
  4. Step 4: Add Flavorings and Dry Ingredients Stir in vanilla extract and espresso powder, if using. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
  5. Step 5: Fold in Chocolate Chips and Bake Fold in chocolate chips, then pour batter into the prepared pan. Spread evenly and bake for 25-30 minutes until set. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Step 6: Shape the Brownies Chill the brownies for 30 minutes. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out brownies. Remove carefully and decorate with sprinkles if desired.
