- 24 Oreo cookies
- 16 oz (450g) white chocolate melting wafers or candy melts
- 8 oz (225g) pink or red candy melts
- 24 lollipop sticks (6-inch length works best)
- Valentine’s sprinkles assortment (heart shapes, pink and red colors)
- Optional: 4 oz (115g) dark chocolate for drizzling
- Optional: Edible glitter or luster dust for shimmer
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set up a styrofoam block for holding the drying pops. Organize sprinkles in small bowls for easy access. Separate several Oreos by twisting gently, keeping the cream filling attached to one half.
- Step 2: Insert the Sticks Melt 2 tablespoons of white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Dip one end of each lollipop stick into the melted chocolate, then press it onto the cream-covered half of the separated Oreo, covering about 1/2 inch of the stick. Place the plain cookie half back on top and press gently. Repeat with all cookies, then refrigerate for 10 minutes to secure.
- Step 3: Melt the Coating Chocolate Place white chocolate melting wafers in a deep microwave-safe bowl. Heat at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Transfer some melted chocolate to a smaller bowl for easier dipping as you work.
- Step 4: Dip the Oreo Pops Holding a prepared Oreo by the stick, dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring complete coverage. Gently tap your wrist against the bowl edge to remove excess chocolate while rotating the stick. Lift and allow excess to drip off for 2-3 seconds.
- Step 5: Add Valentine’s Decoration While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with Valentine’s decorations. Work quickly but carefully. For half the pops, immediately apply sprinkles. For the remaining pops, let white chocolate set slightly before adding pink drizzle.
- Step 6: Create Drizzle Effects Melt pink or red candy melts following the same process as the white chocolate. Transfer to a small piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off. Drizzle in zig-zag patterns or heart shapes over set white chocolate pops.
- Step 7: Set and Package Place decorated pops in the styrofoam block and allow to set completely at room temperature (about 30 minutes) or refrigerate for 10 minutes for faster setting. Once set, package in cellophane bags tied with ribbon for gifting or arrange on a serving platter.
